Ice-Out Day is April 7, 2004


Thanks to everyone who posted a guess as to when the ice would go out on Johnson Lake. John and Sharon Okerstrom say it appears that today - April 7th - is the day, thanks in part to a southerly wind. They say some snowpiles remain along Veit Drive. Soon these reminders of winter will be gone as well. For the record... these are the ice-out guesses:

April 10th Norm Okerstrom

April 11th Roy & Lois Hansen They suggest that the JLPOA could have a contest next year.

April 14th, 3AM. John Okerstrom

April 15th Bob Polkinghorn

April 7th. Webmaster Jon Okerstrom. A wild guess comes true!

Thanks to everyone who posted guesses. We don't yet have confirmation that the ice is gone from the bay. If you know, please post a message below this story. Of course, we could have another "winner," if the lake freezes again. But then, let's not go there!
