JLPOA Annual Meeting This Weekend, June 24

The annual meeting of the Johnson Lake Property Owners Association is scheduled for Saturday, June 24th at 10 a.m. at the Webster Fire Hall. See you there. Read more to learn what's scheduled.

President Bob Polkinghorn says a representative from the Burnett County Land and Water Conservation Department will speak on ways to protect the clarity of the lake. After the speaker is finished, the floor will be opened to questions, so bring your ideas and suggestions. Bob says "each year 4 board members are elected. It is my hope that some new people will be willing to serve, so please consider running. It's not a big commitment. We typically have 2 to 3 meetings a year and it's a good way to make a difference for the lake."

Another issue is the sign at the boat landing, which was vandalized. This was discussed at the board of directors meeting and will be brought up during the membership meeting. If you're interested in designing the sign, be sure to attend or let someone on the board know you're interested. Some lakes have very visible signs covering important issues such as eurasian milfoil. Bring your ideas to the meeting.

Bob also reminds us, "If you haven't paid your 2006 dues, please do so. The dues are $10 per family. The majority of the money is used for printing the newsletter. Call Lois Hansen (866-8120) if you don't remember if you've paid. Thank you!"
