Storm Winds Cause Scattered Damage to JLPOA Member Properties - East Side Pictures

The gusty winds raced across the lake and caused more damage on the Southeast side. This entry covers damage along and near Schoonover Road. The photo below shows how a large pine tree flattened an aluminum boat and a canoe on the David Persell property.

Mel Paulson says he was heading for his basement when the power went out. Several large trees fell over Schoonover Road, keeping Paulson from leaving. By Monday morning, the road was clear and the power company had re-established power.

The power company crew sawed part of the tree that landed on this cabin, to allow them to reconnect power.

The storm system caused scattered outages all over Northwest Wisconsin and Minnesota. Most outages lasted only a short time.

The wind and downed trees made a mess of an aluminum dock. You can see the flattened boats in the background.

A relatively small tree sliced into the roof of this shed on the Persell property.

Mel Paulson and John Okerstrom survey the mess the storm created just hours after some property owners had completed a "Spring Cleaning" of their yards.

Paulson says he called neighbors to let them know about damage to their property. Other Johnson Lake residents checked on properties and notified their owners as well. We are thankful for our good neighbors.

Roy Hansen was among those good neighbors who checked for damage. Unfortunately, a tree fell in his home. Another took down his television antenna tower.
