More Snow Than a Guy Could Want!

After years of brown Christmas celebrations, Johnson Lake is a wintry wonderland. The snowmobile trails are great, however as of Christmas, the snow covered a layer of water on the ice. Apparently the weight of all that snow is pushing down on the ice. A few frigid nights should solve the problem.

The snowmobile trails are great, however as of Christmas, the snow covered a layer of water on the ice. Apparently the weight of all that snow is pushing down on the ice. A few frigid nights should solve the problem. Feel free to send in your winter photos. We'll update the site with fresh material. (It really needs some!)

Click the hotlink for snowmobile conditions. Here's what they say on that website:

"Burnett County Winter Trails are officially open, this includes Frozen Ground ATV, Winter-Use ATV, and Snowmobile trails. Trail conditions are good to excellent with better conditions existing on forested trails than in the open. We are anticipating a couple more inches of snowfall over the weekend and expect trails to remain open. Please use caution when crossing water bodies as they are not yet considered safe. Please respect private property and ride safely. To find out current conditions, please call the Burnett County Tourism Office at 1-800-788-3164."

Have fun and be safe in 2008!
