About the Photo of the Month - January 2005

My guess is that lots of JLPOA members are "sun people." We don't feel at our best when we're cooped up in the office or anywhere else where windows are absent. Long periods of gray, cloudy days seem to sap our energy. We don't just need sunlight to help our bodies to make Vitamin D. No, if you're like me, time outdoors in bright sunshine is an emotional, almost spiritual necessity. And Johnson Lake is the perfect place to enjoy it.

There's nothing like the feel of golden rays hitting your face as the sun rises on a crisp winter's day. Experiencing a sunrise like this one warms the spirit, if not the body. It's an open invitation to remember the fun in the sun you shared with friends and family last season; the canoe trip into the bay, the 4th of July Boat Parade and the hours spent trolling for a giant Northern Pike. A sunrise like this one also invites imagination, for the great adventures to come on a bright sunny day.
