More Snow Than a Guy Could Want!
After years of brown Christmas celebrations, Johnson
Lake is a wintry wonderland. The snowmobile trails are great, however as of
Christmas, the snow covered a layer of water on the ice. Apparently the weight
of all that snow is pushing down on the ice. A few frigid nights should solve
the problem.

Hungry Beavers Claim Aspen
You might think beavers favor small trees very near
water when they're hungry for a mid-winter snack. Not so, says Richard, "Weg"
Wegwerth. Weg sent in a photo of the evidence of what happened on his property
on the north side of Johnson Lake.

About the Photo of the Month - November, 2006
The sunset is more than a spectacular way to end a
day on Johnson Lake. As we anticipate the cold darkness of winter, the sunset
symbolizes some spectacular achievements in 2007.

About the Photo of the Month - June 2006
Father's Day weekend started out hot, muggy and
rainy on Saturday. Sunday turned out much better, with lots of warm sunshine and
a reason to have fun in the water. Several cousins took the chance to have some
fun for the camera by jumping off the
dock.

Road Construction Forces Detour for Johnson Lake Visitors
The reconstruction of Wisconsin Highway 35 is
forcing detours for lots of travelers visiting Johnson Lake and surrounding
area. The highway is closed at County Road A, just north of Webster. A common

Dog Found
Hi JLers. If you know who owns a Jack Russell
Terrier - white with brownish spots - please email or call me. One of our new
neighbors, Jerry Romero, has him in his porch. This dog has no tags, but is
wearing a Harley Davidson collar. Jerry has had him for several hours, and he
does not have a
phone.

95.

Nature's Beauty Isn't Always Green
This tree maintains its form, even in
death. It's about five miles east of Webster in a farming area. The
photographer, "Weg" says "the tree is a classic, been there for years...being
without any foliage, all around is the new life of spring...it is a compilation
of new life and old life - the living and the dead,
perhaps. Cheerio...Weg
actually shot while the rain drops were falling."

About the Photo of the Month - February 2006
Nature gives us beauty in many shapes and forms.
Consider a once-towering oak tree, battered by harsh winters, hot summer sun and
storm winds for several decades. The tree lost its top, but continues to
survive, thanks to two lower limbs, reaching to the heavens like outstretched
arms.

About the Photo of the Month - January 2006
Blame global warming or mother nature, but the
winter of 2005 and 2006 is milder than most. The week before Christmas started
out with cold and snow, but ended with melting slush and signs of premature
spring.
